【日本の外貨準備高が初めて１兆ドルの大台に】
久しぶりにグッドニュースです。
日本の外貨準備高(Japan’s forien reserves)が初めて１兆ドルを突破しました。財務省が７日、発表しました。
中国に先を抜かれたとはいえ、貿易立国・島国ニッポンとしてはすばらしいニュースです。
よくここまで復興したものです。感慨。
外貨準備高の増加は、米国債の利回りが上がったことが主因のようです。サブプライム・円高の“おかげ”ですから、手放しで喜べない、という人も多いでしょう。
でもいいんですよ、１兆ドルなんですから。
実に良い響きです、「１兆ドル」！
海外で大手を振って歩けます、１兆ドル。
報道などを総合・勘案すると、外貨準備高は８割以上、米国債で持っているようです。
【運用利回りは年利４％か？】
それだけ聞くと、もう少し、勇気を出して（テイク・リスクして）運用してもいいかなとも感じますが・・・
「平成２０年度特別会計書」の１７３ページによると、
外為特会の運用収入は４兆２５２億円を計上しています。
１００兆円もっていて、利子が４兆円。
ということは、「およそ年利４・０％」で運用しているということだと思います。
個人的には「こんなもんじゃないかなあ」と思います。
この数字は、「９割が米国債」という報道、および財務省が「政府系ファンド（SWF）に慎重だ」ということを裏付けています。
ちなみに、運用益「４兆円」のうち、１兆２８８６億円を国債整理基金特会に繰り入れるんですね。
この辺をみても、財務省ってさすがだなあと思います。
全員がすばらしいわけじゃないけど、財務省の人が日本の金融や財政で、「ここぞ」の一踏ん張りをしてくれることを期待しています。

TOKYO: Japan‘s foreign reserves surpassed US$1 trillion (€650 billion) for the first time in February, the government said Friday, fueled by a stronger euro and gains in the value of U.S. Treasurys.
Reserves of convertible foreign currencies, gold and International Monetary Fund special drawing rights rose US$11.94 billion (€7.79 billion) from January to US$1.01 trillion (€660 billion), the Ministry of Finance said.
February’s result marked the ninth straight month of increases and followed a US$22.68 billion (€14.81 billion) gain in January. China is the only other country with foreign currency reserves of more than $1 trillion.
The strengthening of the euro against the dollar to $1.5179 at the end of February from $1.4861 at the end of January was one of the main reasons for the increase.
The value of Japan‘s euro-denominated bonds rises as the European currency climbs against its U.S. counterpart because Japan calculates the value of its reserves in dollars.
